What is Remitr?
Remitr is a cross-border payments platform created by Remitware Payments Inc.
It is an online service that allows you to send money abroad with the convenience of your mobile phone.
Remitr is backed by reputable angel investors & have a reputed management team with decades of experience in money transfer, payments industry, enterprise and consumer products, and software technology.
What are the ways in which money can be received by my recipient?
Money can be received in recipients bank accounts or to his/her Mobile Wallet or can be used top-up mobile airtime.
Who can send International Payments through Remitr?
Any Individual or Business Establishment in geographies supported by Remitr, can enrol to avail this facility.
What kind of payments is Remitr suitable for?
Remitr is suitable for family expenses, higher education, investments, loan repayments, insurance, utility bills payments, travel bookings and more.
You don’t need to fall back on expensive bank transfers or run up large costs on using your card for foreign currency payments when you have Remitr.
What services are not available?
We do not offer cash-based payment service. Money is always received from a bank account or a card, and is credited to a Bank account or a Wallet.
Will my recipient have to pay any fees.
While we do not charge the recipient any fees for receiving money, any intermediary financial institution or the recipient’s financial institution may levy additional fees or service charges.
What do I need to send money overseas?
Almost nothing more than what you already have, i.e.,
- A local bank account / bank issued card
- Enrolled in Remitr as a user
- Sufficient funds to send money
- ID proof for customer KYC
- The recipient’s bank details
How do I use this service?
- Download the Remitr Platform from the Google Play store or Platformle Platformstore
- Sign up and provide your basic details
- Check our rates and provide the amount to be transferred
- Provide recipient details and complete your transfer
- You never have to provide the same recipient details a second time.
Do I have to send money during banking hours in my recipient’s country?
No. You can transfer money any time of the day or night, regardless of what time it is in your recipient’s country.
Will the money I send using Remitr arrive safely.
Yes, money you send using this service will arrive safely, provided that you have correctly entered the sending instructions.
In what currency will my recipient receive the funds.
Typically, your recipient will receive the funds in local currency.
I send money to one recipient regularly. Will I have to re-enter his or her information every time.
No. Your recipient’s information, will be remembered by the Remitr Platform whenever you send money next.

I have sent money. What happens next?
Immediately after you have sent money, you would get a Payment Information Advice (PIA) on your phone.
This will also be sent to you via email & SMS.
Follow the instructions on the PIA to provide money to Remitr’s Partner Account mentioned on the PIA.
Why do you need the recipient’s mobile phone number and email address?
We use the recipient’s mobile number and email address to send them notifications about the progress of the transfer.
Both the sender and recipient will be notified when the transfer is confirmed and again when it is received.
Where do I enter my promo/discount code?
From time-to-time, Remitr issues special promotional offers that give customers a discount on their money transfer fee. If you have a promotional code, you can enter it on the send money screen, and avail the special offers.
How can I make a business payment using Remitr?
Businesses can register on the Remitr website to make international money transfers. If you are an existing Remitr Platform user authorized for business payments, you would automatically see the business payments option on your Platform.
What if I need to cancel a transaction?
Once the funds have arrived in the receiver’s account, the sender cannot reverse the money transfer.
If the receiver somehow does not receive the money, the amount is returned to the sender’s account within 15 days.
Can I visit you in person?
Remitr is headquartered in Palo Alto, CA USA, with offices in Ontario, Vancouver, Mumbai & Dubai. However we do not have physical retail outlets as we are 100% digital service. For further information please feel free to reach us on email@example.com
What happens if I lose my phone?
Your account is protected by a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and therefore difficult for someone else to access your account without these details. Wrong PIN inputs would automatically block the account.
